A parking lot in San Francisco filled with electric autonomous vehicles from the Chinese brand Waymo began honking by itself in the middle of the night, disturbing neighbors around 4 a.m.

One of the neighbors, identified as Randol White, recorded a video of the incident. “I wondered where it was coming from? And I looked down and thought, I think it’s coming from the Waymo cars,” he told ABC.

This is not the first time Waymo cars have honked by themselves. Other neighbors besides White have also lodged complaints. “In the past two weeks, I’ve woken up more times at night than in 20 years,” said Russell Pofsky, another neighbor of White’s.

The brand says the issue was caused by a malfunction in their systems, causing the cars to honk at each other.

“We have identified the cause and are in the process of implementing a fix,” Waymo said after the complaints from the public.

According to White, the noise from the horns has significantly decreased.
