Audi will launch new A6 Sedan with turbo engine and Avant-inspired design (Instagram @audi.sk)
The Audi is about to launch the new A6 sedan, with its debut scheduled for April 15. Curiously, the wagon (Avant) version was revealed before the sedan, which is unusual in the industry.
The preview images show the rear of the car with OLED taillights and a LED strip running across the entire back, following the current design trend. Audi will also abandon the fake exhaust outlets on the new A6 and S6 models.
There were plans to rename the A6 line to A7 to differentiate combustion engine cars from electric ones, using odd and even numbers to differentiate them respectively, but the idea was abandoned. Additionally, Audi does not intend to launch a new generation of the A7 Sportback, ending that design alternative. In China, there is even a long-wheelbase A7 sedan, which further highlights the current complexity of the brand’s lineup.
Regarding the engine options, the new A6 will have a 2.0 turbo gasoline engine with 201 hp and a 3.0-liter V6 with 362 hp. There will also be a 2.0 TDI diesel option with 201 hp. The sporty RS6 version will remain exclusive to the Avant wagon, probably with an electrified V8 engine. The sedan is expected to be larger and more aerodynamic, following the changes made to the Avant, which has already been launched in Europe.
The sedan version is expected to reach the global market by the end of 2025, with the U.S. receiving the model only in 2026.
