A Audi has revealed its first fully electric model exclusive to the Chinese market: the E5 Sportback, launched under the local sub-brand called AUDI (in uppercase letters).

The vehicle is a four-door hatchback with a minimalist design and larger proportions than the A5 Sportback, adopting an aesthetic closer to a crossover. Developed in partnership with SAIC, the E5 is built on the new Advanced Digital Platform (ADP), which will be used only for AUDI models aimed at China.

With fully electric powertrains, the E5 will be offered with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (Quattro) and will have four power options, ranging from 295 hp to an impressive 776 hp, the latter capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds.

The battery can reach 100 kWh, with an estimated range of up to 770 km and the ability to recharge 370 km in just 10 minutes, thanks to the 800-volt system. Specific details about the motors and battery configurations have not yet been revealed.

Inside, the E5 features cutting-edge technology, with a 27-inch 4K screen, its own operating system (AUDI OS), and a Qualcomm chipset capable of performing billions of operations per second. The car also features a driver assistance system based on LiDAR, with 29 sensors for navigation in complex urban environments.

The model can already be seen at Auto Shanghai (from April 23 to May 2), and two more launches from the AUDI sub-brand are scheduled for 2026 and 2027.
