The Audi A2, which has turned 25, was a peculiar model when launched, featuring characteristics like short overhangs, a high roof, and an aluminum body. Although it initially attracted attention, its production lasted only five years due to sales difficulties. Now, a team of apprentices at Audi has modernized the A2, transforming it into an electric vehicle, the A2 E-Tron, although this is just a unique project.

Among the changes made to the A2 E-Tron are illuminated emblems, new designs for the front and rear, an updated grille, modern headlights and taillights, as well as removed door handles and a repositioned license plate.

The original model, which offered gasoline and diesel engines, failed to establish itself in the market, leading to its discontinuation in 2005.

The name A2 remained inactive until Audi presented an electric concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011, but this project also did not materialize. In 2010, the automaker launched the Audi A1, filling the space below the A3 and making a return of the A2 to production unlikely.

If the model resurfaces, fans hope it will have a look similar to the newly modernized A2 E-Tron.
