The TVR Scamander, a unique amphibious prototype from the British sports car manufacturer, has resurfaced from the ashes with an exciting display.

Built by former TVR owner, Peter Wheeler, the three-seater, two-wheel drive vehicle was designed to perform multiple functions. After years of sitting idle, the Scamander was revived in a Harry’s Garage video, with its 3.0-liter Ford V6 engine starting up without issues and its functionalities being tested.

Even after years of inactivity, the Scamander shows resilience, remaining relatively intact since the 2010s. Equipped with an automatic transmission and keeping traction on just two wheels for weight saving, the vehicle exhibits surprising functionalities, though it still needs repairs to be considered road-legal again.

Wheeler’s legacy lives on through the Scamander, a project he continued to refine until his death in 2009. With his son, Joe, now leading the restoration mission, there is hope that soon the Scamander might return to the roads in full form.
