An American man was surprised with the delivery of a very expensive motorcycle to his home. When he checked the sender, it was none other than Vladimir Putin, President of Russia.

It all started when Mark Warren, a retired fire inspector from Alaska, accidentally became a sensation in Russia after being filmed by Russian reporters with his Ural motorcycle.

Ural Motorcycles was founded in 1941 and was named after the Ural Mountains in Russia. Since 2022, the bikes have been assembled in Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan.

Warren was then invited by reporters for an interview about the motorcycle and vented about the difficulty of finding parts for it in Alaska.

“It got crazy, and I don’t know why, because I’m just a normal guy. They interviewed an old guy on an Ural, and for some reason, they thought it was cool,” Warren told the Associated Press.

The interaction happened a few days before the meeting between Putin and Donald Trump. Suddenly, Warren received a call from the Russian reporter, who revealed that they had decided to give him a new motorcycle.

After that, he received a document indicating that the donation of the Ural bike was organized by the Russian Embassy in the U.S. At first, he thought it was a prank.

The document did not explain why he was receiving the gift, only that “The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the United States of America, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir V. Putin, transfers the following property as a gift.”

After the leaders’ meeting, the man received another call informing him that the bike was at the base and that he had instructions to go to a hotel the next day for the delivery.

When Warren arrived at the location with his wife, six men he assumed were Russian stood by the olive-green Ural motorcycle. “I was floored,” he said.

Despite the surprise, all they asked in return was to take a photo and give an interview. Apparently, two reporters and someone from the consulate rode on the bike with him while he drove around the parking lot for filming.
