AM General, known for the military vehicle HMMWV, is entering the autonomous equipment field after unveiling its new combat-ready autonomous vehicle during Marine Expo 2026.

According to a report from Defence Blog, the next-generation unmanned ground vehicle was showcased alongside the high-performance MIMIC-V truck during the event held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

According to the company, the UGV demonstrator is already undergoing testing in preparation for an Army request for proposal expected to be released later this year. The vehicle incorporates equipment from several military technology partners, including Textron Systems, Carnegie Robotics, and Moog Inc.

The result is a platform that combines Textron’s expertise in unmanned systems, Carnegie Robotics’ autonomy software capabilities, and Moog’s weapons integration capacity into a single integrated vehicle designed to reduce risk for Marines in logistics, resupply, reconnaissance, and mission support roles.

The UGV’s mission mapping aligns directly with the U.S. Marine Corps’ Force Design 2030 requirements for autonomous ground systems capable of operating in distributed and contested environments across the Pacific.
