Alpine A390: high-performance electric crossover to be revealed in May (Instagram @alpinecars)
Alpine is preparing to launch the A390, its first high-performance electric crossover, with the reveal scheduled for May 27.
The model, which had a concept presented last year, keeps much of the original design, including thin headlights connected by a light bar and a fastback roof. Equipped with three motors and active torque vectoring, the A390 promises high performance and will feature five driving modes, including one for track use.
Recently spotted during testing in Sweden, the model retains notable features from the concept, such as deep grooves on the hood to direct airflow and aerodynamic elements at the rear.
Inside, the leather-wrapped steering wheel has motorsport-inspired buttons, including one for the driving mode and another for overtaking.
With seating for five passengers, the vehicle measures 4.62 meters in length, 1.53 meters in height, and 1.88 meters in width, dimensions similar to a Genesis GV60.
Produced at Alpine’s factory in Dieppe, France, the A390 will be launched in Europe in 2026 and is expected to mark the brand’s entry into the U.S. market in 2027. Alpine, a subsidiary of Renault, plans to expand its electric lineup with larger SUVs and an electric successor to the A110 sports car. More details about this strategy are expected to emerge in the coming years.
