Klein Vision has presented the AirCar, a sport flying car that truly resembles a luxury automobile, but with retractable wings.

The key feature of the model is that, in the United States, it can be driven with just a regular driver’s license, with no need for a pilot’s license, although those who already hold a pilot’s license can fly it without additional training.

The model is aimed at people looking for a practical aerial vehicle with a sporty look, and deliveries are expected to begin as early as 2026.

The AirCar has two seats and combines high speed with long range. It has been developed over 30 years and has undergone over 500 flight tests. Its fifth generation was recently revealed at an event in Los Angeles. Among the innovations are an automatic transformation system between land and air modes, activated by a button on the steering wheel. Its wings fold and lock, and the tail extends in 80 seconds for takeoff. The car reaches 249 km/h in the air and 200 km/h on land, with a range of up to 1,000 km in the air and 800 km on the road.

The vehicle uses V6 engines provided by a South African company, with versions up to 340 horsepower. The structure will be made with a monocoque chassis, lighter and more resistant.

The official launch is scheduled for September, with large-scale production starting right after certification in the U.S. The estimated price ranges from $800,000 to $1.2 million.
