A man who traveled 20 hours to buy a Ram 3500 Laramie truck was completely shocked when the engine light turned on during the return trip.
Gavin Pacirov posted a video on his TikTok profile to share what happened. After taking a 20-hour trip from Las Vegas to North Dakota to buy the truck, the engine light came on in the first few hours of the return journey.
“Currently, I’m two hours into my trip,” he said while refueling the vehicle. He then cut to a scene showing the truck’s dashboard: “And unfortunately, the check engine light came on.”
Pacirov also mentioned that he was feeling the transmission slipping. “It’s not a high-performance transmission. It’s a 68RFE, and if you know, you know,” he continued.
“The real question is: will I make it the next 20 hours back to Las Vegas? Twelve hundred kilometers with a slipping 68RFE transmission and the check engine light on? I think I have a death wish.”
“You’ll be fine, Vegas is mostly downhill,” a TikTok user commented. “I think that probably wasn’t the smartest thing you’ve ever done. Just saying,” joked another. “You got this,” added a third.
In a follow-up video, Pacirov, who owns a sports car dealership, emphasized that he bought the Ram for personal use and plans to use it to replace his current white Ram 2500.
However, he mentioned that he will need to deal with some repairs to get the 3500 Laramie in good condition. Still, as he explained in the comments of the initial video, it seems the purchase was worth it given the price he paid for the truck.
