The prototype, called Integra Type S HRC, is about 90 kg lighter than the standard model and features significant aerodynamic improvements, including a splitter, side skirts, larger air intakes on the hood, and an adjustable rear spoiler. These upgrades increase downforce and stability at high speeds.
To achieve weight reduction, Acura replaced the hood with a carbon fiber model, removed the rear seats and air conditioning, and installed Recaro bucket seats in the front.
Forged wheels with greater offset and Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires, designed for track use, also contribute to improved car performance, widening the track by 30 mm both front and rear. New brake rotors and adjustable coilovers complete the chassis improvement package.
Although there has been no increase in power, the 2.0-liter turbo engine received a larger intercooler and two oil coolers, as well as the Type S race car’s exhaust system. Acura has not yet disclosed when these parts will be available or their cost, but they are likely to be offered as accessories for the Integra Type S.
