A car that had been abandoned at a shopping mall in Anápolis, Goiás, Brazil, was finally towed after sitting in the parking lot for eight years.
On social media, users shared images of the Ssangyong Kyron, which was in a deplorable condition in the Anashopping parking lot.
According to the portal UOL, the car belonged to Clélia Gomes, now 68 years old. She worked as a clothing saleswoman at the time she purchased the vehicle from the South Korean manufacturer.
However, about three years after buying it, the car began to experience mechanical and suspension problems. After struggling to obtain replacement parts, she decided to file a lawsuit against the dealership.
While waiting for the outcome of the case, Clélia decided to abandon the vehicle in the Anashopping parking lot. Unfortunately for her, the court judged the case as mere “buyer’s remorse.”

It is worth emphasizing that the car was not brand new and was already ten years old at the time of the court ruling. Thus, the vehicle remained abandoned in the shopping mall parking lot for eight long years until it was recently towed.
Now, the car is buried under a literal “snowball” of debts. In addition to parking fees, the vehicle has two unpaid fines from 2015, taxes pending since 2019, and registration fees for 2025 and 2026. The total debt amounts to over US$ 6,600, which is nearly the car’s current value of about US$ 7,200 according to Brazilian pricing tables.
UOL contacted the shopping mall to find out the destination of the Ssangyong. According to the report, the vehicle was moved to another location also owned by Anashopping, simply to avoid the “bad impression” it was creating for customers.
