The Volkswagen ID.Buzz, an electric minivan already available in Europe, now offers an entry-level version called Freestyle, aimed at making it more accessible.

This basic configuration features 18-inch steel wheels, distinct tires, and the only color available at no extra cost is Candy White. The unpainted bumpers and simple design details evoke an aesthetic from the 1980s.

The interior of the ID.Buzz Freestyle is straightforward, with fabric seats reminiscent of older models. The vehicle comes equipped with a 12.9-inch screen and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Specifications include a rear electric motor producing 170 horsepower, allowing the minivan to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 145 km/h.

With a base price of $55,300 in Europe, the new version is cheaper than the previous configuration and about $6,000 more accessible than the ID.Buzz available in the US. This pricing strategy is part of Volkswagen’s efforts to boost electric vehicle sales in a slowing European market, especially with stricter emissions targets set to come into effect in 2025.
