Ukrainian company Twist Robotics and Danish company Vidar Industries have announced the creation of a joint venture in Denmark to manufacture drones from the SAKER family for the European market.
According to a report by the Ukrainian outlet Militarnyi, the initiative marks the expansion of Ukrainian technology production outside the country and aims to meet the growing demand for unmanned systems across the continent.
In the initial phase, the new facility will produce three models from the SAKER lineup: Scout, Hunter, and Hetman. According to the companies, approximately 12,000 drones are expected to be manufactured during the first year of operation, with the possibility of expanding production capacity according to demand. Production is expected to begin within the next three to six months.
Under the agreement, Twist Robotics will remain responsible for technological development, innovation, and system improvements in Ukraine, while Vidar Industries will oversee production in Denmark, as well as quality control, compliance with European standards, and the expansion of industrial capacity.
Among the models to be produced is the SAKER Scout, a modular platform capable of carrying out reconnaissance, communications relay, electronic warfare, and attack missions. The drone can remain airborne for up to 45 minutes and operate even without a GPS signal.
The SAKER Hunter, meanwhile, is a multifunctional fixed-wing drone with a range of up to 100 kilometers, an endurance of up to 70 minutes, and the ability to carry payloads weighing up to 5 kg. It uses a visual-inertial navigation system to operate in environments without satellite navigation.
According to Twist Robotics, the partnership will allow the company to expand its industrial presence outside Ukraine and integrate combat experience into the European defense sector, strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the development of military technologies.
