Russian state-owned corporation Rostec has announced the delivery of a new batch of Su-30SM2 and Su-34 combat aircraft to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS).
According to the company, the aircraft have already been handed over to the Ministry of Defense after undergoing acceptance tests and are part of the country’s military aviation modernization program.

The Su-30SM2 is a multirole fighter capable of carrying out air superiority and ground-attack missions, while the Su-34 is a tactical bomber designed to conduct precision strikes against land and maritime targets.
Rostec said that both models, built by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), have received upgrades to their electronic systems and weapons, increasing their operational capabilities.

The delivery comes at a time when Russian aviation continues to suffer significant losses in the war in Ukraine. Open-source monitoring platforms have recorded the destruction of or damage to dozens of aircraft since the invasion began in 2022, making fleet replenishment a priority for Moscow.

Although Rostec did not disclose how many aircraft were delivered in this batch, the company said it would continue increasing the pace of production to meet the needs of the Russian Armed Forces.
