The Land Rover Classic division has unveiled one of the most extravagant customizations ever created for a classic Defender.

Commissioned by a single client, the project brings together four restored and modernized Defender V8 models, all finished in a special paint called Spectral Green, which changes color depending on the viewing angle and the way light hits the surface.

The collection includes a Defender 90 Station Wagon, a 90 Soft Top, a 110 Station Wagon, and a new 110 Double Cab Pick-Up. According to Land Rover, each vehicle spent around 400 hours in the paint shop to achieve the chameleon effect, which was also applied to the 18-inch wheels, exterior badges, and sections of the interior dashboard.

The four vehicles are part of the Classic Defender V8 program, under which original models built between 2012 and 2016 are completely stripped down, restored, and upgraded. All are powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 producing 405 hp, paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The package also includes upgrades to the suspension, steering, and braking system.

The interior is trimmed in light-colored leather with green stitching to match the bodywork. Among the program’s updates are a 9-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a rearview camera integrated into the rear bumper.

In addition to showcasing the exclusive commission, Land Rover Classic also used the opportunity to expand the range of body styles available to future customers, adding the new 110 Double Cab Pick-Up and the Defender 90 Hard Top. The company did not disclose how much the buyer paid for the four vehicles, but prices for a Classic Defender V8 start at around £200,000 before personalization options.
