Russia has released a video showing the delivery of a new batch of Su-35S fighter jets to its Aerospace Forces, reinforcing the continuity of military production even amid the war in Ukraine and Western sanctions.
The confirmation was made by Rostec, the state-owned conglomerate responsible for Russia’s defense industry, which continues to manufacture one of the country’s main fighter aircraft. Considered the most advanced combat aircraft currently produced on a large scale by Russia, the Su-35S features thrust-vectoring engines, modern radar and the capability to carry out long-range missions.

The aircraft has been used in different operations during the conflict, including air superiority patrols, precision strikes, bomber escort missions and operations against Ukrainian drones.
According to information released by Rostec itself, Russian pilots also use the fighter jet in reconnaissance missions and to identify enemy positions far from the front line. The strategy seeks to reduce the risk of losses in areas protected by portable anti-aircraft systems and short-range missiles used by Ukrainian forces.

Data from the independent project Oryx indicates that Russia has lost at least 140 combat aircraft since the beginning of the invasion in 2022, including at least eight Su-35S units. Even under international sanctions targeting the aviation sector, Moscow continues to maintain production thanks to the use of stockpiled components, indirect imports and domestic industrial substitution programs.
