A T-45C Goshawk training aircraft from the United States Navy crashed on Monday (26) in a rural area of Noxubee County, Mississippi.
The two military personnel on board successfully ejected before impact and were taken to a local medical facility for evaluation. The causes of the crash have not yet been officially disclosed.
According to the U.S. naval training command, emergency teams and military personnel were quickly mobilized to secure the crash site. Images shared on social media show debris scattered across the area, including parts of the wings and the aircraft’s characteristic arresting hook. Tracking data also indicate that a T-45 lost signal in the same region shortly before the crash.
The incident marks the second accident involving U.S. military training aircraft this month alone. On May 12, a U.S. Air Force T-38C Talon crashed in Alabama, also with the crew ejecting safely. Following that episode, the Air Force announced a temporary operational pause for the T-38 fleet while investigations continue.
The recent accidents come amid the release of new data from the U.S. Naval Safety Command, which points to an increase in serious accidents during fiscal year 2026. Among the latest incidents was also the midair collision of two EA-18G Growlers during an air show in Idaho. Despite the severity of the accident, all four crew members survived after ejecting, leading the Navy to temporarily suspend activities of its aerial demonstration teams.
