Ukraine’s defense industry has introduced the Inguar 4, a new 6×6 armored recovery vehicle developed to remove damaged equipment from the battlefield.
Produced by Inguar Defence, the model uses a domestically developed tri-axle chassis and comes as a response to one of the main difficulties faced by Ukrainian forces since the beginning of the war: the lack of adequate means to recover armored vehicles damaged in combat.
According to the manufacturer, the Inguar 4 was designed to operate with a wide variety of vehicles used by the Ukrainian Army, including Western and domestic models such as the M113, MaxxPro, Kirpi, Kozak and Novator. Compatibility with different platforms is considered an important advancement, as Ukraine began operating armored vehicles from several countries following the increase in international military aid in recent years.
The new vehicle also complements the expansion of the Inguar-3 line, which already includes versions designed for troop transport, medical evacuation and support for drone units. The growth of this fleet has created greater demand for specialized battlefield recovery and maintenance vehicles, reducing dependence on foreign equipment and strengthening Ukrainian military logistics.
Beyond domestic use, the chassis of the Inguar family has also attracted international interest. Norwegian company Kongsberg already uses the Ukrainian platform in an anti-drone vehicle equipped with systems capable of detecting and countering low-altitude aerial threats. According to experts, the development of the new 6×6 chassis demonstrates Ukraine’s ability to expand its military industry even amid the conflict, creating a foundation for future specialized armored vehicles.
