Rolls-Royce began 2026 with solid performance in the defence sector, driven by growth of more than 20% in equipment deliveries and steady progress in strategic programmes.
According to CEO Tufan Erginbilgic, the progress reflects internal changes and a structure better prepared to withstand external fluctuations, with the military division standing out as one of the company’s most resilient and promising areas.
Among the main milestones is the use of the AE 3007 engine in the first flight of the MQ-25 Stingray, the U.S. Navy’s autonomous aircraft designed to extend the reach of operations by taking on aerial refuelling missions. The project strengthens the company’s position in the development of propulsion systems for next-generation unmanned aircraft.
The company also expanded its international presence by securing major contracts, including the supply of EJ200 engines for 20 new Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft destined for Turkey. In the naval sector, the MT30 turbine was selected to equip Australian frigates, consolidating its presence in modern fleets and strengthening maritime defence and anti-submarine warfare capabilities.
In addition, Rolls-Royce is advancing strategic projects in the United States, including testing for the MV-75 programme and the modernisation of B-52 Stratofortress bombers with F-130 engines. With new contracts for armoured vehicles in Europe and industrial partnerships, the company is maintaining robust financial projections for 2026, even amid geopolitical tensions on the global stage.
