The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) carried out a drone offensive against Russian strategic targets in occupied Crimea, striking a MiG-31 fighter jet, three warships, and key military facilities in Sevastopol and at Belbek airfield.

The operation focused on the Black Sea Fleet base and installations linked to aviation and air defense.

Among the equipment hit were landing ships and a reconnaissance vessel, as well as a training center, radar systems, and intelligence units. There are also indications that a MiG-31 interceptor in the BM variant may have been destroyed, adding to Russia’s aviation losses throughout 2025, which already include several aircraft and helicopters.

According to Ukrainian authorities, the actions follow a strategy of gradually weakening Russia’s military capability by targeting key sectors such as the fleet, aviation, and defense systems. The objective is to reduce Moscow’s ability to coordinate and plan new offensives.

Monitoring reports indicate that the attack occurred in two waves during the early hours of the morning, with explosions recorded at multiple locations across Sevastopol, including military areas and airfields. Although local authorities claimed to have neutralized dozens of drones, damage to strategic structures was reported by residents in the region.
