The partnership foresees the supply of 34 SUPERAV 8×8 platforms and the integration, by Indra, of four variants of the future amphibious combat vehicle intended for the Spanish Ministry of Defense.

Indra Land Vehicles and IDV, a company of the Leonardo group, have signed a strategic agreement that will serve as the basis for the delivery of the new Amphibious Combat Vehicle of the Spanish Marine Infantry, known as VACIM. The program was requested by the Spanish Ministry of Defense under a Special Armed Forces Modernization Program.

Under the agreement, IDV will supply 34 SUPERAV 8×8 amphibious platforms, while Indra Land Vehicles will act as the main integrator of the project in Spain. The Spanish company will be responsible for adapting the vehicles to the operational requirements of the force, consolidating its role as a national integrator of combat platforms and expanding its portfolio with amphibious solutions.

According to the companies, the new armored vehicle is expected to strengthen the amphibious projection capability of the Spanish Marine Infantry and improve performance in coastal operations, combining high mobility, protection, and reliability in both maritime and land missions. The proposal also aims to ensure full interoperability and incorporate technologies considered state-of-the-art in this segment.

Within the scope of the program, Indra is expected to deliver four VACIM variants to the Ministry of Defense: troop transport, command and control, recovery, and ambulance. The final configuration will be carried out in industrial facilities in Spain, with the integration of mission systems required by the Spanish military.
