Vauxhall has announced pricing and more details about the 2026 Astra, with one highlight being the impressive discounts on hybrid and electric versions.
Among the updates, the electric model’s battery stands out, having received an upgrade that should provide an additional 35 km of range. The 58 kWh battery is now expected to deliver a total range of over 450 km in the WLTP cycle.
The plug-in hybrid model has also been improved, now producing 195 horsepower instead of its previous 181 hp. It also features a new seven-speed gearbox, as well as a larger 17.2 kWh battery, increasing electric-only range from 56 km to 83 km.

Vauxhall also stated that a regular 1.2-liter gasoline engine will be available later this year, with either manual or automatic transmissions. This engine will deliver the same 130 hp as the previous model.
According to Car Magazine, the Astra, which arrives in the UK in the middle of this year, will have a starting price of £29,995 (around $40,200) across all powertrains, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric versions. This represents a £5,000 discount (approximately $6,700) compared to the previous Astra.

The Hatchback and Sports Tourer models also have identical pricing, going against the usual trend where the latter costs about £1,500 ($2,100) more. The GS starts at £31,495 ($42,200), while the top-of-the-line Ultimate model is priced at £33,995 ($45,600).
Orders for the new Astra will open in June, with the first deliveries already scheduled for July. “It’s about simplification. There’s so much choice, you have to make it easier for customers,” said Emma Robson, head of product pricing at Vauxhall.

“If you simplify, you get more consideration from customers because they may have found the buying journey a bit confusing. Hopefully, this will make it easier for customers to put us on their shopping list.”
