Russia has set up nine launch sites for Iskander ballistic and cruise missiles near the border with Ukraine, the Ukrainian outlet Militarnyi reported.
The identification was confirmed on the Russian Federation’s Telegram channel Strategic Aviation. According to the report, Iskander-M and Iskander-K missiles were positioned at sites to the south, east, and north.
The launch geography covers the Kursk, Bryansk, and Rostov regions of the Russian Federation, as well as Crimea, in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory.
In the Kursk region alone there are three launch sites. In particular, west of the village of Shumakovo there is a military base, the former location of the 9P78-1 facilities.
Previously, Ukrainian drones attacked this installation, destroying several Iskander operational-tactical complexes. It is unknown whether Russia is still using this site today.
Another launch site is the area around the city of Shchigry, in the Kursk region, which the Russians mainly use to launch Iskander-K cruise missiles rather than ballistic missiles.
Another site is in the area of the village of Cheremushki, a region used by Russia for isolated ballistic strikes. Satellite images show military equipment under camouflage nets, presumably Iskander-M installations.
Finally, near the administrative border with occupied Crimea, the invaders established positions near the village of Novoselivske. Several ballistic missile launch sites are operating in this area.

As noted by the author of the Telegram channel, the occupiers are keeping the Iskander installations exposed, according to satellite imagery. In addition, active construction of new fortifications is underway at the sites.
The area of the Taganrog airfield has also been added to the list of potential new launch sites, but Russia is also using other areas for launches, including the surroundings of Taganrog and Millerovo, as well as the Chauda training ground.
Despite this, one of the main sites for the deployment of launchers remains the Molkino training ground in the Krasnodar region.
