The Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine carried out, on the night of December 28, a series of strikes against Russian military infrastructure in Crimea.
The operation was confirmed by commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi and employed domestically produced FP-1/2 kamikaze drones, operated by the unit’s 1st Center.
Among the targets hit were facilities used to store and launch naval drones, with at least three strikes confirmed. The attack gains relevance after the August incident, when a Russian naval drone struck the Ukrainian vessel Simferopol — the first confirmed case of this kind — in addition to similar actions already recorded on December 24.
Another highlight was the destruction of a Valdai anti-drone radar, protected by a special dome. According to reports, the drones pierced the protection before directly striking the system, as well as a possible associated command post. The Valdai is a 3D X-band radar capable of detecting small UAVs at long distances and integrating with electronic warfare systems, reinforcing the strategic importance of the target.
