Specialists from the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and the United Engine Corporation (UEC), companies within the Rostec State Corporation, have begun flight testing of the new fifth-generation engine known as “Product 177,” integrated into the Su-57 combat aircraft.

The first flight with the new powerplant was conducted by test pilot Roman Kondratiev and, according to official information, proceeded normally, within the parameters planned for the test mission. During the operation, the engine demonstrated stable and reliable performance throughout all phases of the flight.

The corporation also highlighted that the aircraft has attracted interest from foreign customers and that export processes are already underway.

At the same time, the Su-57 program continues to evolve. Operational experience has been used to expand weapons capabilities and update onboard systems.

The incorporation of the “Product 177” engine, with increased power, is expected to improve flight characteristics and serve as a basis for future platform modernizations.

The Su-57 was developed as a multirole fighter capable of carrying out missions against aerial, ground, and maritime targets.
The aircraft can operate around the clock, even under adverse weather conditions and in environments with intense electronic interference, while maintaining the ability to engage targets protected by modern air defense systems.
According to Mikhail Streltsov, director of OKB Sukhoi, the Su-57 continues to be improved with a focus on increasing combat capabilities and integrating advanced technologies.
He stated that the platform’s architecture allows for the rapid incorporation of new technological solutions throughout its development cycle, ensuring adaptability to different operational scenarios.

The “Product 177” engine was designed by UEC for use in tactical-operational combat aircraft.

The use of new materials, manufacturing technologies, and innovative design solutions has resulted in a powerplant with significantly superior performance compared to previous-generation engines.
The inaugural flight marked the beginning of the joint flight test phase between UEC and UAC within the framework of the Su-57 program.

Currently, the United Aircraft Corporation is conducting a program to expand its industrial capabilities.
The initiative aims to increase delivery volumes of the Su-57 to the Russian armed forces and expand its offering on the international market, with the participation of several companies from the Rostec group throughout the production chain.
