Croatia has advanced its military modernization program by finalizing the purchase of 18 CAESAR MkII howitzers and 15 Serval armored vehicles, in a joint acquisition financed by the European Union.
The agreement was formalized during ceremonies held in France, attended by Croatian and French officials, including President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
The package includes a complete regimental set, featuring ATLAS fire-control systems, Thales radios, and command, observation, and logistics equipment. KNDS highlights that the CAESAR MkII incorporates enhanced protection, a more powerful engine, and updated digital systems, reflecting lessons learned from recent operations in Europe and the Middle East.
In addition to the howitzers, the Serval vehicles will reinforce reconnaissance and support missions as part of the French SCORPION program. For the defense industry, the agreement demonstrates the strengthening of European defense cooperation and deepens the strategic partnership between Croatia and France.
