The Thai Army employed its Ukrainian-made Oplot-T tanks for the first time in real operations in Cambodia, during an attack carried out by Task Force Burapha against a Cambodian facility near the border.

According to military authorities, the site was used as a base for indirect fire, machine gun positions, and a weapons depot aimed at attacks against Thai troops.

The armored vehicles, belonging to the 2nd Cavalry Battalion, were seen in action in a video released by the Thai forces themselves. Equipped with light grids installed on the turrets to enhance protection against drones and explosives, the Oplot-T tanks supported the advance of Thai troops, who continue to operate within Cambodian territory since the start of the offensive.

Thailand currently operates 49 Oplot-T tanks, delivered between 2013 and 2018 after a contract signed with Ukraine. The fleet has been adapted to tropical climates and received positive evaluations for combat performance, although it requires rigorous maintenance.

The country also operates BREM-84 Atlet support vehicles, capable of replacing essential tank components, including the turret and engine, reinforcing the logistical capability of armored units.
