The FBI seized a 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster during the search for former Olympic athlete Ryan Wedding, who is on the run after being accused of international drug trafficking.
Ryan Wedding, a snowboarder who represented Canada at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, was allegedly trafficking 60 metric tons of cocaine per year, according to authorities.
Now, the FBI has seized a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster that belonged to the fugitive former Olympian. The extremely rare model, one of only six examples ever built by Mercedes, is valued at more than US$ 13 million.

The FBI statement does not specify exactly where or how Wedding obtained the famous Mercedes, but the agency’s press release claims that his drug trafficking operation was responsible for moving more than US$ 1 billion per year.
The FBI went as far as comparing Wedding to notorious drug traffickers such as Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán and Pablo Escobar. Recently, Wedding was added to the Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. The FBI has increased the reward for information leading to his capture to 15 million dollars.
