Ukraine has contracted the German company ARX Robotics to produce and deliver hundreds of units of the unmanned ground systems GEREON.

The announcement was made last Tuesday (18) at the ARX Robotics headquarters in Munich. According to the company, the contract includes the delivery of several hundred GEREON robotic units, an initiative that will create what the company describes as “the world’s largest networked military robot fleet.”

These systems will be interconnected using the company’s Mithra OS software, enabling coordinated fleet operations and scalable mission deployment across multiple military domains. “This significant order represents a decisive vote of confidence and a clear mandate for expansion,” said Marc Wietfeld, co-founder and CEO of ARX Robotics.

“With the expansion of the interconnected GEREON fleet, we are enhancing a critical capability with Ukraine and strengthening the German-Ukrainian partnership. At the same time, we are laying the foundation for a robust, locally anchored supply chain.”

The GEREON systems have been operational in Ukraine since early 2025. The company describes the GEREON fleet as modular and designed for a variety of operational missions, from logistics and reconnaissance to direct tactical support.

The platform is built around an integrated framework combining autonomy, sensors, and open interfaces, allowing synchronized control of multiple systems, improving reaction times, ensuring logistics flow, and increasing resilience in hostile environments.

Production of the new systems will be split between Germany and Ukraine. The company has established a production unit in Ukraine, while local suppliers and partners are simultaneously expanding capacity to support the program.

“Production at our Ukrainian unit and collaboration with local partners accelerate delivery to the armed forces and ensure operational support. We are developing capability and specialized knowledge in Ukraine, which will add value beyond this contract,” said Igor Kornilov, CEO of ARX Ukraine.

The new contract marks the third expansion of Ukraine’s GEREON fleet and a significant milestone in expanding unmanned ground operations. The new integration, according to ARX, will help Ukrainian forces conduct coordinated operations in dynamic and complex terrain.
