A mechanic is attracting attention after posting a video showing how a simple oil change turned into a big headache for the owner.
In the clip, posted on Facebook, the mechanic began by joking about the fact that the car didn’t even manage to make it to the shop. Even before opening the oil pan, he said he could already see the “shine” in the oil.

“Alright, here we go,” the mechanic said just before opening the drain plug. As he then showed, instead of the dark brown oil that usually comes out during an oil change, what came out looked more like golden paint full of glitter.
“Oh yeah. It’s really shining. Wow. That color would make a very cool paint color,” the mechanic commented as the oil flowed out. “Look at my hand. See how it shines and glitters.”
Needless to say, if your oil looks anything like what was shown in the video, it’s a sign that something is very wrong with your car. As several commenters pointed out, shimmering oil usually indicates that your engine’s days are numbered.
“The presence of shiny particles in engine oil generally indicates shavings or metal particles floating in the lubricant, which normally result from internal damage or engine wear,” explained the Engine Oil Journal.
