The 412th NEMESIS Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) has been elevated to brigade level, in an expansion that will allow the creation of specialized units for naval drones and new robotic platforms.
According to the brigade’s press service, the unit advanced from battalion to brigade status in less than two years.
During this period, NEMESIS was responsible for about 20% of the damage inflicted on Russian air defense systems in occupied territories and for the destruction of enemy equipment estimated at around $3 billion.

“Since December 2024, the 412th NEMESIS Regiment has ranked among the top 10 and, since June 2025, among the top 5 in the DELTA rating of the most effective units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces,” the statement said.
The transformation into a brigade will enable the development of new capabilities, including the Middle Strike division, equipped with FPV drones, ground robotic systems, and interceptors of enemy UAVs.
The unit will also operate naval drones, although the type and missions have not yet been officially disclosed. However, the institutional video released shows images of the Magura V5, one of the main naval drone models used by Kyiv.
“With an increase in manpower and arsenal, the brigade will be able to scale up and raise its effectiveness to a new level,” the statement added.

The expansion of NEMESIS was initially announced in early October by the commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, as part of a strategic reorganization aimed at strengthening offensive capabilities.
Large-Scale Expansion of the SBS

Currently, the Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) represent about 2% of Ukraine’s total Defense Forces. The Ukrainian military command aims to raise that proportion to 5% and announced on October 30 an open recruitment campaign for 15,000 new positions.
Among the main announced expansions:
- The 414th “Birds of Magyar” Brigade doubled its personnel and technical resources, beginning to carry out systematic attacks on critical Russian infrastructure beyond the front line.
- The 14th SBS Regiment was transformed into the 1st Separate SBS Center, dedicated to the integration of training, reconnaissance, and coordination of real-time unmanned operations.
- The 413th “Raid” Battalion was upgraded to Separate Regiment status, increasing the number of assault groups.
- New units were created: the 427th “Rarog” Regiment and the 411th “Yastruby” Regiment.
According to the SBS Command, in October, one out of every three confirmed Russian losses resulted from actions carried out by Ukrainian drones.
In total, 8,060 enemy soldiers were hit, with 4,710 eliminated—an increase of 20.2% compared to September.
