Although expensive, having an Apple AirTag can be an investment. This is what a British motorcyclist discovered after his motorcycle was recently stolen.
The incident happened in Braunstone Town, a small town near Leicester, England, as reported by the site Ride Apart.
After his motorcycle was stolen, the owner went to the police, and the authorities were able to find the vehicle thanks to the AirTag hidden under the seat.
While the owner recovered his $8,000 motorcycle, the punishment for the thief left much to be desired. The 35-year-old man pleaded guilty to the theft but only received a 12-month community service order with 80 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to pay $114 in court costs and a $153 surcharge to the victim. Considering the light sentence, it is worth noting that the thief already had a criminal record, including for assault.
