Rostec presents the KVV-1: heavy drone that fights fires from the sky

Rostec released exclusive images of the tests of the new heavy firefighting drone, the KVV-1, during the “Drone Expo 2025” forum held in Kazan.

The equipment was presented by the Radioelectronic Technologies conglomerate and has already demonstrated its effectiveness in tests conducted with specialists from one of the potential clients. Mass production is expected to begin in 2026.

The KVV-1 weighs 85 kg and can carry up to 85 kg of payload. Its main innovation is a direct connection to fire trucks via a hose, allowing it to release a fire-extinguishing mixture at heights of up to 150 meters.

The operating time varies according to the power source:

  • Up to 25 minutes using batteries;
  • Up to 72 hours when connected to a power source via cable.

The drone is equipped with:

  • Collision avoidance system;
  • Stabilized camera with 30x zoom;
