The European company ARX Robotics unveiled the Combat Gereon, its first unmanned ground combat vehicle (UGV), developed in partnership with the Ukrainian company Frontline.

Designed to perform dangerous tasks in place of soldiers, the vehicle combines the Gereon RCS platform with artificial intelligence and the BURIA grenade-launching turret, offering increased safety for troops in conflict zones.

The UGV was developed under a European-Ukrainian program, taking into account recommendations from Ukrainian military personnel and real frontline situations. Its main function is to operate in high-risk areas, conducting reconnaissance, route clearance, and advanced surveillance, allowing soldiers to avoid direct contact with the enemy.

The vehicle can carry loads of up to 500 kilograms over distances of up to 40 kilometers and supports integration of modern weaponry.

The official presentation of the Combat Gereon will take place at the DSEI UK 2025 international exhibition in London, alongside the remotely operated LOKI weapon station. The project stands out for its modularity and potential for mass production in Europe and Ukraine, reinforcing defense cooperation between the countries.

The transfer of units to Ukraine had already been announced in November 2024, with the German government funding the purchase of 30 vehicles and ARX planning a technology and maintenance center in the country.
