The 1967 convertible Jaguar MKII that once belonged to Noel Gallagher, lead singer of the band Oasis, was recently put up for sale.
Purchased by Gallagher in the 1990s, the vehicle was a special order made for him. Originally a four-door MKII sedan, the Jaguar underwent several modifications to be transformed into a convertible by the specialists at Vicarage.
At the time he bought the car, the singer didn’t even have a driver’s license. But he learned to drive during the two-year period in which the vehicle was being restored.
The rear doors were removed and the front doors extended, while a soft top and power window system were added to turn the Jaguar into a fully functional convertible.
In the end, Gallagher never actually drove the car, but the vehicle made an appearance in a music video by Gallagher’s band High Flying Birds, in which it was driven by actor Matt Smith, from Doctor Who.

He kept the car for many years until selling it in 2022 to Jaguar Land Rover Classic. The vehicle made several other appearances at major events, including Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, during which model Twiggy rode in the back seat.
Now, the convertible MKII is up for sale by Twyford Moors, who emphasized that the car remains in “stunning” condition. “We’re very pleased to offer such an extraordinary car with a history as rich as its specifications,” said Harry Rochez.
