Two of the largest aircraft carriers in the world, the British HMS Prince of Wales and the American USS George Washington, met in the Pacific Ocean during Exercise Talisman Sabre 25.

The multinational operation, led by Australia and the United States, brings together 35,000 military personnel from 19 countries and aims to strengthen cooperation among allied forces in the Indo-Pacific region. The ships operated together on July 18, escorted by warships from Canada, Norway, and the U.S., and conducted air maneuvers with F-35B fighters and embarked helicopters.

The British participation is led by the UK Carrier Strike Group 25, which includes ships such as the frigate HMS Richmond and the destroyer HMS Dauntless, along with logistical support from the tanker RFA Tidespring. On land, operations involve British Army and Royal Navy troops working together with allied forces in amphibious and ground actions.

The operation also serves as an integration platform with aircraft from the Royal Air Force (RAF), such as the Voyager, and reinforces readiness to respond to strategic challenges in the region.

The HMS Prince of Wales, the current flagship of the Royal Navy, is one of the largest ships in British naval history, measuring 284 meters in length and capable of carrying up to 48 F-35B jets and hundreds of military personnel. Designed for short takeoff and vertical landing operations, the ship is equipped with modern radar systems, self-defense systems, and infrastructure to support large air and amphibious operations. With long-range endurance, the vessel is currently participating in Operation HIGHMAST, strengthening the British presence in the Indo-Pacific.
