Tesla has once again reported a significant decline in global electric vehicle sales, even after Elon Musk’s departure from the U.S. government.

The CEO of the company stepped down from his position as director of DOGE at the end of May, a move that was supported by shareholders. However, it seems that this wasn’t enough to improve Tesla‘s situation.

In the second quarter of the year, Tesla delivered 384,122 cars, recording a 13% drop compared to the same period in 2024.

To return to growth in 2025, experts suggest that the company will need to make up a deficit of nearly 110,000 units by the end of this year.

Despite the negative numbers, Tesla is still outperforming earlier market analyst projections, which had predicted a 20% drop in sales.

Forecasts suggest that Tesla will end 2025 with a total of 1.65 million vehicles delivered. If this comes to fruition, it would represent an 8% decline compared to 2024’s numbers.

However, as the third quarter of the year approaches, analysts expect the company to report its second annual sales drop.
