A prototype of the electric sedan Xiaomi SU7 Ultra surprised by completing a lap at the demanding Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in just 6 minutes and 22 seconds.

This time places the Chinese model in fourth position among the fastest in the track’s history, behind only machines like the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo, Volkswagen ID.R, and the legendary Porsche 956. The performance beat its own previous best by 24 seconds, recorded in 2024.

The feat was achieved by a highly modified test model: with the interior removed, a safety cage, lightened bodywork, and racing slick tires. With an impressive 1,548 hp generated by three motors, the SU7 Ultra accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and reaches a top speed of 350 km/h.

Xiaomi stated that the lap was made under ideal weather conditions, which also contributed to the exceptional performance.

To celebrate this milestone, the Chinese brand will launch a Nürburgring special edition of the SU7 Ultra, limited to 100 units. The version will feature carbon fiber components, Sparco racing seats with six-point harnesses, upgraded brakes, adjustable suspension, and high-performance tires. The model will cost about $114,000 but will not be sold outside China.
