Using night vision devices, the soldiers crossed engineering barriers known as “dragon’s teeth,” invaded enemy positions, and quickly captured them before retreating with agility. The action also included the rescue of wounded soldiers and vehicle crew members using motorcycles and ATVs.

This type of attack, unprecedented for Ukrainian troops, marks the introduction of a new military tactic using motorcycles, with the first company announced on May 20.

The formations operate with two soldiers per motorcycle — a rider and a shooter — both armed with AK-74U rifles to enable combat on the move. After dismounting, the fighters act in pairs, fully trained and equipped by the regiment.

In addition to mobility, the motorcycles can be adapted for different purposes such as transporting ammunition, the wounded, or electronic equipment. The main goal of these units is to move quickly across open areas, capturing positions before the enemy can respond accurately, making surprise and speed key elements of the strategy.
