A Aston Martin is finalizing adjustments to the Valhalla, its first plug-in hybrid supercar with a mid-mounted engine, before production begins in the second quarter.
The model is being tested both on roads in the United Kingdom and on the IDIADA test track in Spain. Only 999 units will be produced, marking a significant step forward for the brand, which had already launched the hypercar Valkyrie, but now focuses on the Valhalla as its first mass-production model with this configuration.
The Valhalla combines a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with three electric motors, delivering a total of 1064 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque. This setup allows the supercar to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 350 km/h.
During testing, the development focused on adjustments to the steering, active aerodynamics, and braking system, with the expertise of driver Darren Turner, a three-time Le Mans champion.
In addition to the enhanced powertrain, the Valhalla features a new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, along with a dry sump engine system for better performance. The latest tests revealed the supercar in different color combinations, highlighting its aggressive design.
With production about to begin, the model represents a significant step in Aston Martin’s evolution toward the era of high-performance hybrids.
