The Chevy Blazer EV will make history this Sunday by becoming the first electric car to serve as Pace Car at the 67th edition of the Daytona 500.
This will also be the 16th time Chevy provides the official car for the iconic NASCAR race. The chosen model is the Blazer EV SS, the top-of-the-line version of the electric SUV, featuring all-wheel drive, 615 horsepower, and accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds in “Wide Open Watts” mode.
In addition to the electric Pace Car, Chevy will showcase a new prototype for NASCAR, the Blazer EV.R. This innovation is part of a movement by the category and automakers to test new technologies, following Ford’s recent reveal of the Mustang Mach-E NASCAR.
The 2025 NASCAR Cup season officially begins with this weekend’s Daytona 500. The race will be broadcast on Fox Sports, with onboard footage available on the Max platform.
