Huawei’s Luxury Electric Car Stuns with Innovative Technology and Autonomous Charging (X @China_Fact)
Huawei, traditionally known for its smartphones, is now entering the automotive market with the launch of the Maextro S800, a luxury electric car developed in partnership with JAC Motors.
With a starting price of around $122,800, this model aims to compete in the high-end vehicle segment. The Maextro S800 stands out for its technological innovations, including the “crab mode,” which allows the vehicle to move sideways, making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces.
The model is available in two versions: the BEV, a fully electric variant with 852 hp, and the EREV, a plug-in hybrid offering up to 1,006 hp, featuring a 1.5 turbo combustion engine to extend its range. Both versions come with autonomous charging technology, allowing the car to locate and connect to charging stations automatically, without driver intervention.
The BEV versions are equipped with three electric motors, while the EREV variants have either two or three motors, along with a 63.25 kWh battery supplied by CATL.
Measuring 5.48 meters in length and 2 meters in width, the Maextro S800 offers a spacious interior and an elegant design, featuring 20-inch wheels and a two-tone paint finish.
This launch marks Huawei’s debut in the luxury car segment, with the goal of strengthening its presence in the automotive market, particularly in China.
