A 90-year-old driver completely destroyed a café after crashing his car into the front door of the establishment, police revealed.

The incident occurred on the night of last Thursday (27), Thanksgiving Day, in the Los Gatos neighborhood of San Jose, California (USA). The 90-year-old driver was speeding down University Avenue when he collided with the Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company café.

The driver, whose identity has not been revealed, had to be taken to the hospital, and his condition is stable, according to the channel WABC-TV. Security cameras captured the moment of the collision. According to authorities, there is suspicion that the elderly driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

“All factors are being analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation,” said the Los Gatos Police Department in a statement. “The establishment was closed and unoccupied at the time of the incident, and the driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.”
